Stock you can trust on the day.
Availability is worked out from every stock movement, so a shortage shows up while you quote, not at the loading dock.

A stock count kept by hand is wrong by Friday.
Gear goes out, comes back late, lands in repair or moves to another branch. When availability is a number someone has to remember to update, nobody trusts it, and the job finds out on the day.
How Cue-RMS keeps count.
- Q1
Worked out, never typed in
Free stock is what is on hand, less confirmed jobs and their buffer days, less repairs, plus confirmed sub-rentals and incoming transfers. It is worked out each time you ask.
- Q2
Quotes never hold stock
The first job confirmed gets the gear. Each item also shows what would be short if every open quote came in.
- Q3
Shortages in one list
Every short line on confirmed and pending jobs, soonest first. Open one to sub-rent it, ask suppliers for prices, request it from another branch or swap in an alternative.
- Q4
Kits and accessories
Fixed kits, or flexible ones whose contents change per job. Accessories add themselves, or are suggested, when you add the item.
- Q5
Repairs block stock
A repair takes a unit or a quantity out from the day it opens until it closes, with the fault, the vendor, the cost and the expected return. Nobody can book past it.
- Q6
Branches that lend
Each branch keeps its own count and sees what the others have free. Lend stock or move it for good, with travel days and a recharge to the borrowing job.
Questions.
- How is availability worked out?
- From the stock ledger, every time it is asked: on hand, less confirmed jobs with each item's buffer days, less repairs and blackouts, plus confirmed sub-rentals and incoming transfers. Movements are never edited or deleted; a mistake is fixed with another movement.
- What happens when a line is short?
- The line still goes on the quote, marked with how many are short, so you can sell first and source after. Repairs and blackouts are different: nobody can book past those.
- Can our branches share stock?
- Yes, once you have two or more. Lend stock and keep owning it, or move it for good. Travel days pad the dates, loans warn as the return date gets close, and a loan can recharge the borrowing job full hire, freight only or nothing.
- Does it handle serialised and bulk stock?
- Both, in one catalogue. Serialised items carry a serial and barcode per unit, with a status of in store, out, in repair or retired. Bulk items are counted.
