Know the margin before the quote goes out.
Cost view puts cost and margin beside every sell price. Clients open, sign or ask for changes from one link.

A quote from a spreadsheet is a guess about margin.
The gear has a cost, the crew has a cost and the sub-hire has a cost, and none of it sits beside the sell price until the job is over. Long hires get billed by the calendar day or discounted by feel. Cue-RMS works the numbers out as you add each line.
How a quote comes together.
- Q1
Cost view, line by line
Switch to Cost view for cost, factor, discount, sell and margin on every line and every group. A line under 25% margin is flagged.
- Q2
Hire length, priced properly
The standard factor curve is built in: two days bill 1.5 times the day rate, three days bill twice it. Set your own curve, or override it on a job or a line.
- Q3
Discounts with limits
Every line discount carries a reason. Each person has a discount ceiling, and anything above it is refused, for people and AI agents alike.
- Q4
Option A, option B
Build an LED wall and a projection package as separate options on one job. Only the option you select is priced and sent to the client.
- Q5
Compared with your own jobs
In Cost view the totals bar compares the quote with the median of your past quotes for the same kind of event.
- Q6
Signed online
Clients open the quote from a link on any device, sign with a finger or a mouse, or ask for changes. The signature is tied to that exact version.
One line, worked through.
Twelve moving heads on a four-day hire: the day rate, the four-day factor and a 10% discount, worked out by the same pricing engine that prices every quote in Cue-RMS.
12 at $45 a day, times the 4-day factor of 2.5, less 10% discount, sells for $1,215.
Questions.
- Can clients sign a quote online?
- Yes. The client opens the quote from a link, with no account, and signs with a finger or a mouse. They can send a change request from the same page. The acceptance is recorded against that exact version of the quote.
- How are quotes sent?
- From Cue-RMS, in your company's name, with replies going to your address. The email carries a link to the client's page for the quote. You can print or save a PDF from the browser whenever you need one.
- Does a quote hold stock?
- No. Quotes never hold stock, and the first job confirmed gets it. Each line shows what is free for the dates, and a short line is marked with how many are missing.
- What happens when a quote changes after it is sent?
- Issuing freezes the document with a version number, the letterhead, the terms and who issued it. Issue again after a change and the client sees the new version, with the earlier ones kept.
